Client: The Mandarin Cake Shop | Boutique pastry concept within Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Msheireb Downtown Doha
Role: Senior Designer / Brand Lead
Scope: Conceptualising Packaging Across Multiple Sizes & Categories, Structural Design/Folding, Visual Language, Printing Specifications & Follow-Up
CHALLENGE:
Create a cohesive packaging system for Mandarine Cake Shop that reflects Middle Eastern charm fused with Mandarin hospitality, while supporting different pastry types and packaging sizes.
STRATEGY:
Developed a visual language combining the chrysanthemum (Mandarin symbolism) with geometric arabesque patterns, ensuring elegance and cultural balance. Conceptualised package structure and folding for various box and bag formats, considering both functionality and premium presentation.
DESIGN SYSTEM:
- Packaging design across different dimensions and product categories
- Structural and folding concepts for boxes and bags
- Visual languageĀ and graphic elements
- Printing specifications and materials to achieve premium quality
EXECUTION & IMPACT:
Delivered production-ready packaging for all pastry formats, ensuring a cohesive, high-end brand experience. Followed up with printers to guarantee quality, precision, and faithful execution of design and structure.
LEADERSHIP:
Led the concept-to-production process, coordinating with printing partners and internal teams to ensure the visual language, structure, and materials were consistently applied across all packaging touchpoints.
